James Robert Cason went home to be with the Lord Sunday, October 23, 2022. “Jimmy” was born February 24, 1934, in Columbus, Ohio, to Willie Cason and Alma (Wilson) Cason. He attended East High School and later successfully obtained his G.E.D. He retired as a long-time letter carrier for the United States Postal Service where he was known as “Case.” He later found great joy taking computer classes at Columbus State Community College. He was a former member of Trinity Baptist Church where he was a member of the Male Chorus and Superintendent of the Sunday School Junior Department. James is survived by daughter, Therese (Don) Elliott, grandson, Julian Elliott, and brother, Lawrence (Anita) Cason. He is also survived by former wife and friend Jacqueline Cason and step-son, Ted (Jennifer) Thomas. James was predeceased by parents, and siblings, Bertha Brown, John Ed “Bill” Cason, Elizabeth Wimbley, Milton Cason, Robert Cason. He will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. James will be remembered for his Biblical knowledge, wisdom, kindness, and willingness to help all he met. He loved the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a wonderful father, brother, “Paw-Paw,” uncle, and friend.
